ICE CREAM
FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED
We just love ice cream!
Ava’s Homemade Ice Cream is a family-owned and operated business that is run with fun! We welcomed Ava’s into our lives in 2016 and have been creating sweet goodness since then. We truly are a family-run business. Dad makes the ice cream, our three kids work at the shop, and Mom helps with flavor development and the fun ideas!
Our mission is to create homemade ice cream that is made fresh in-house with high-quality ingredients, and in small batches for the ultimate freshness. We are also tree nut-free! Our kids are allergic to tree nuts, so we wanted an ice cream shop that was tree nut-free and allergy-aware. At Ava’s, you can feel safeguarded from any tree nut contaminants.
AVA'S CARES
It's what's on the inside that counts
We are environmentally conscious and have taken measures to reduce waste in our packaging and supplies as much as possible. We have implemented paper straws for all of our shakes and floats, and our paper cups and plastic spoons are made with natural biodegradable materials.
Another one of our passions is giving back and helping support our community. We do so by strengthening our community to provide a local gathering hub for friends and families and helping provide many local kids with their first jobs. We even had a local valedictorian mention her work at Ava’s in her commencement speech. We were so honored!
We also have a big heart for special causes and love to help contribute to local charitable work in any possible way we can. One special way we do this is by specially crafting flavors that personally reflect a cause and give back. See the special story behind our flavor Goodness Gracious here, which is based on our local cancer warrior Grace who is fighting childhood cancer since she was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in 2018. We developed her favorite flavor together with her, and all proceeds go to help fight her cause and childhood cancer.
We hope you come by to visit us at our sweet little shop off the main street beaten path of Basking Ridge, NJ, and help support local small businesses and help us give back!
